In the Fall of 2006 the name New Bern Camera Club was changed to Coastal Photo Club

The New Bern Camera Club was established by Elizabeth Dunn in early 1991 to bring people together who want to share  their interests and skills in photography. Learning and teaching is the core of NBCC. The club provides in club photo competitions as an opportunity for members to do their best and learn from others on how to make great photographs. Knowledgeable speakers  are selected to stimulate your thinking and provide information on conventional photography and the rapidly expanding field of digital imaging. Photo field trips provide an enriching hands-on complement to your learning curve. One of the goals of the NBCC is participation in community activities, such as presenting slide programs in rest homes and schools, sponsoring photography contests, and taking photos for local community organizations.
